Staffing Exceptions - Withdraw Request

Access: Users assigned the Reports - Staffing Exceptions permission. The following roles are assigned this permission by default: Director, Sr. Leader, Facility Administrator, Performance Improvement Labor.

 

When a staffing exception is created, designated members of facility leadership are notified by email. A designee can then review the request(s) and make a decision whether to accept or deny a staffing exception. The designee may also return the staffing exception to the requester if they require additional information.  

At times, patient census or staffing levels may change and a staffing exception is no longer warranted. In these cases you may choose to withdraw an exception request.

To Withdraw a staffing exception request:

  1. Open the Request Exception Approval form.
  2. On the department schedule, right-click on the shift summary period and choosing Update Exception

  1. On the daily roster, click the Staffing Exception link for the shift summary period.   
  2. Enter Note text to explain why the request is being withdrawn.
  3. Click Withdraw.
  4. The designee will be notified by email that the request has been withdrawn.
  5. The request status on the daily roster will display as Withdrawn.

When a staffing exception request is returned, the original requester will be notified by email.
